Topology Proceedings, Volume 31, Number 1 (2007)

##########

The Seventh Iberoamerican Conference on Topology and its Applications will
take place in Valencia (Spain) from 25 to 28 June, 2008 at Universidad
Politecnica de Valencia.

Valencia is a beautiful Mediterranean city which enjoys a mild temperate
climate. It is the third largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona
(for more information about Valencia visit
http://www.turisvalencia.es/index.aspx?idioma=EN).

The aim of this conference to encourage the cooperation between
topologists from iberoamerican countries. The participation of
researchers from other countries is warmly encouraged.

The programme will include three main speakers, five invited speakers and
short communications.

MAIN SPEAKERS:
Gerald Beer (California State University, U.S.A.)
Fernando Hernández-Hernández (Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de
Hidalgo, Mexico)
Jorge Galindo (Universitat Jaume I, Spain)

INVITED SPEAKERS:
Antonio Fernández Carrión (Universidad de Sevilla, Spain)
Michael Hrusák (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico)
Miguel Ángel Sánchez-Granero (Universidad de Almería, Spain)
Ángel Tamariz-Mascarua (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico)
José Valero (Universidad Miguel Hernández, Spain)

CONTRIBUTED TALKS (15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion) distributed in 5
special sessions:
Set-Theoretical Topology (Salvador García Ferreira and Jorge Picado,
organizers)
General Topology and Function Spaces (Giuseppe Di Maio and Javier
Gutierrez, organizers)
Topological Algebra and Topological Dynamics (Francisco Balibrea and
Mikhail Tkachenko, organizers)
Asymmetric Topology and Applied Topology (Valentin Gregori, Oscar Valero
and Almanzor Sapena, organizers)
Topology on Function Spaces (Luis García-Raffi and Enrique Sánchez Pérez,
organizers)

The deadline for submitting abstracts is 29 February 2008. Accepted
abstracts can be viewed at http://cita.webs.upv.es/abstracts/Abstracts.php

Topology and its Applications will publish a special issue including a
selection of the papers (after a referee process) presented during the
conference. The high standards of the journal will be applied.

The official languages are Portuguese, Spanish and English.

REGISTRATION
The registration to CITA 2008 is now open. The conference fee is 150 euros
(before 15 April 2008), 180 euros (after 15 April 2008). The registration
fee includes the coffee breaks, material for the conference, conference
excursion and conference dinner. The payment should be made by bank
transfer (see the details in the web page http://cita.webs.upv.es). The
deadline for registration is 15 May 2008. Registered participants can be
viewed at http://cita.webs.upv.es/abstracts/Participants.php

CALL FOR PAPERS
The abstract submision for CITA 2008 is open. You are warmly encouraged to
submit an abstract of no more than 3 pages to the conference.

ACCOMODATION
The organizing committee of CITA 2008 recommend the paticipants to stay at
"Hotel Solvasa Valencia" (****). The hotel is about 25 minutes walking
distance to the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and also near the the
port and the beach (5-10 minutes walking). There is also a close bus stop
where you can catch the bus to the university. We have obtained a special
price for participants of CITA 2008. 90,95 euros (single room including
breakfast), 96,30 euros (double room including breakfast)

Valencia is becoming a very important city in Europe because it organizes
a lot of important events. In fact, next year some boat races previous to
the 33rd America's Cup will be celebrated so obtaining a good price for
accommodation is not easy. Therefore, we recommend the participants to
book the accommodation as soon as possible. The organizing committee has
obtained a limited number of rooms with this special price only during 4
or 5 months. After that date we cannot assure that this will be the price.

More detailed information will be provided later and will be available at
the home page of the Conference at http://cita.webs.upv.es

We look forward to see you in Valencia

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE
