The workshop will take place in the Besprechungsraum at the fifth floor (5. OG) of the Freihaus building of the Technische Universität Wien. In the building, go to Turm A, green area, take the lift to the fifth floor and go straight to the Besprechungsraum.

The address of the Freihaus building is: Wiedner Hauptstrasse 8 - 10, 1040 Wien

You can get there by taking the underground lines U1 (red), U2 (violet), or U4 (green) to the station Karlsplatz and leaving the station via the exit Wiedner Hauptstrasse. Walk straight 200 meters until you see a light green building on the right.

Public transport in Wien

Public transport is very efficient in Wien. A VOR ticket gives you unlimited access to all public transport in the city area of Wien (this includes the area around the TU - where the Conference takes place). Tickets are sold at various places, including ticket-machines, which are located in every subway station (working all the time, as long as the subway lines are open). There are many kinds of tickets, trying to give people as much flexibility as possible. The most advisable is a whole-week ticket. Several possibilities are:

How to get to Technische Universität Wien

From the airport: You can take the Rapid Transit train [SCHNELLBAHN], line S7 (goes one level under the airport; just follow the signs), to Landstrasse (Wien-Mitte) station. Don't forget to buy a ticket (2 zones = 3.60 Euro). Another possibility is to use the CAT train which takes you to Landstrasse as well (non-stop, 10 minutes faster, price: approx. 9 Euros). Landstrasse station is only 2 subway stations away from Karlsplatz - take the subway line U4 - Direction HÜTTELDORF.
From Westbahnhof: Take the subway line U3 - Direction Simmering to Stephansplatz, then the subway line U1 - Direction Reumannplatz to Karlsplatz.
From Südbahnhof: Take the tram line D to Kärntner Ring, Oper. From there, you can walk 3-4 minutes through the subway area to Karlsplatz.
