The main purpose of this research grant is the development of an European solver for large-scale nonlinear programming problems in particular those arising from spacial trajectory optimization problems. The solver must be robust and efficient and handle very large instances.

Astos Solutions is the prime contractor for this activity. Sub-contractors are Skysoft, the University Bremen, the University of Birmingham, and the University of Coimbra (FCTUC).
