Marino Gran: The new calculus
of star-relations
A new method has been recently developed to
unify both pointed and non-pointed categorical algebra. The main tool
is the
notion of star-relation, which is a
common generalisation of the notion of kernel (in the pointed context)
and of
kernel pair (in the non-pointed context). In this talk we shall focus
on some
results we have established in any category
with a good theory of ideals, a context extending both the notion
of ideal
determined category (in the pointed context) and the one of exact
Goursat
category (in the non-pointed context).
