Although resembling limpets in shape, cap shells are less sturdy and their appex, which may be coiled, is often placed
towarded the rear.
Capulidae animals attach themselves to solid objects; some are parasitic on other mollusks.
The fool's cap is a thin
shell varying considerably in outline and height, usually wider than its height.
Habitat: solid objects, North Atlantic, Mediterranean.
