Apparently they had just opened their Pentax mail or else maybe the Pentax rep had just been there. Anyway, one of the brochures showed a revised ZX-5, the ZX-5n. Cosmetically, it is similar to the old model, but the following features have been added. 1. Preview button on the side of the lens mount 2. Spot autofocus switch moved to the side of the lens mount. Looks similar to the auto/manual focus switch on other side 3. Memory lock button added. It is in the same place where the spot autofocus button was on the original model 4. Main power on/off switch is still a little collar around the shutter release button. But now, on/off appears to be its only function. 5. Metering mode switch is now under the shutter time dial. Still 3 modes 6. Drive mode switch is now under the exposure compensation dial 7. Drive mode now includes a "autobracket" setting for 3 shot bracket at 5 or 1.0 + - compensation 8. Viewfinder looks the same except that a little * is added. I cant see from the brochure what this indicates. Maybe for memory lock. 9. Everything else looks about like the old ZX-5. I just sold my ZX-5 here on the NG this week. Now I kind of wish I had it back. I think the old "simple" model is what a ZX-5 should be. Does anybody know if this camera will be the US version of the ZX-3? I cant imagine they will need the ZX-5n, ZX-3 and ZX-1. If anybody wants me to check the brochure for any other details, just let me know.
