Welcome to the web site of the Workshop on Statistics and Inference to be held at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Coimbra on February 18, 2015. This workshop gives us the opportunity to celebrate the sixtieth birthday of Nazaré Mendes Lopes, one of the founding members of the Probability and Statistics group at the University of Coimbra. Nazaré Mendes Lopes played an essential role in the creation and establishment of this group and also in the way the teaching of probability and statistics is addressed in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Coimbra. There is no registration fee for this workshop. Celebration Dinner
Following the workshop we are planning a dinner to celebrate Nazaré Mendes Lopes anniversary. It will take place at Hotel D. Inês in Coimbra at 19h30 (please have a look at the web page of the hotel to get information about its location).A registration is required before February 14, 2015.
