The section of the French National Research Center (CNRS) devoted to "Mathematics" (INSMI) has validated the creation for 5 years of the International Research Project PICASSO "hyPerbolIC models, numerical AnalysiS and Scientific cOmputation".

The project has been structured with three "hubs" laboratories, one in Málaga (Spain), one in Coimbra (CMUC, Portugal) and one in Bordeaux (France).

Picasso conferences
The Picasso Conferences are the major event for the project and its organization, gathering all the participants and collaborators. The first Picasso conference took place in Málaga, March 24-26,2025 https://indico.math.cnrs.fr/event/13192/ . The second Picasso conference will be held in Bordeaux in October 2026.

CNRS International Research Projects
CNRS International Research Projects aim at structuring an international scientific community around shared themes. It promotes the organization of international workshops/seminars or thematic schools organized by partners, in France and abroad. Specific funding is received from CNRS for international mobility between the laboratories, and for the organization of international workshops/seminars, working meetings and thematic schools organized by the partners.
