Matrices & Operators

Workshop with Abraham Berman

June 3-4, 2014

Department of Mathematics, University of Coimbra, Portugal

Welcome to the University of Coimbra, UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 2013

Purpose

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers working on matrix analysis and operator theory, special emphasis being given to applications in other areas of Science. One of the main goals is to highlight recent achievements in this mathematical domain.

The workshop will provide a friendly atmosphere for the discussion and exchange of ideas, which hopefully will lead to new scientific links among participants.

Professor Abraham Berman (Department of Mathematics, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Israel) will deliver the opening lecture. Excluding this conference, the timetable will consist of 25 minute talks, with 5 extra minutes for discussion.

During the workshop, an afternoon will be dedicated to honor Professor Alexander Kovačec.

The M&O will be held at the Department of Mathematics, University of Coimbra, Portugal, June 3 - 4, 2014
