Normally, candidates are required to have completed a degree in Mathematics (or a related area) of one of the following types:

  • a Master degree (second cycle of higher studies in the European Union Bolonha system);
  • a Bachelor degree (4 or more year undergraduate degree in the pre-Bolonha system);
  • any degree which is legally considered equivalent to one of the above.

Applications from candidates who are expected to satisfy the above requirement before the planned date of start of their doctoral studies within the program are welcome. If accepted, admission will be conditioned on completion of one of the required degrees.

Exceptionally, candidates whose scientific, academic and professional curriculum demonstrates ability to pursue doctoral studies may also apply. It is up to the Steering Committee to evaluate whether the special conditions are met. For this purpose, instead of the habilitations certificate, candidates should include a transcript (official listing of courses already completed and the corresponding grades).

Deadline for applications 2015/16

For admission to the program starting September 2015, interested candidates should apply during December 1, 2014 - January 31, 2015 (first phase) or May 15-31, 2015 (second phase).

The maximum number of students to be admitted in the 2015/16 edition is 25.
