Courses

The Courses are an initiative of the Portuguese Group on Special Functions, Orthogonal Polynomials, and Applications. The courses are organized by Kenier Castillo from the University of Coimbra and Zélia da Rocha from the University of Porto.

      April 10: Geodesy, topography, and cartography.

      April 11: Mathematics introduction to orthogonal polynomials.
                    
      April 18:  Padé approximants, continued  fractions, and Henri Padé.

      April 17: Extrapolation methods from Archimedes to the present days.

      April 18: History of continued fractions and Padé approximants.

      April 24: The birth of orthogonal polynomials (Laguerre, Legendre, and Laplace).
