GEFAC was created in 1966 with the purpose of collecting, studying and presenting to the public the different aspects of the portuguese popular culture. We also organise every two years an event - called Jornadas de Cultura Popular -, where popular culture assumes an important place. During a few weeks the public has the possibility of assisting to some conferences, visiting some expositions, as well as enjoying some shows performed by portuguese and foreign groups.

"O eterno compromisso"

It is well known how much the magic-religious way of thinking has always influenced human behaviuor in every way. However, the behaviours which are structured in this way, far from expressing a stable and uniform identity, they explode in tension which go through the institutions which try to frame them. O eterno compromisso
As if the earth's strength, the spice of life and the seed of time where only written in a rebellion which almost willing to accept unknown orders, readily shake them violently.

In this show we dance culture as a fight. Meaning that life can be a party.
